Yim Wing Chun

Yim Wing Chun was a student of Ng Mei and a talented martial artist in her own right. The story goes that Yim Wing Chun recieved an unwelcome proposal of marriage from a local warlord. She decided to train herself as a fighter to rid herself of his attentions. With Ng Mei's help, a challenge was made: if after one year the warlord could beat her in a fight, Wing Chun would consent to the marriage. If not, she was free to choose her own destiny.

After training diligently under Ng Mei, Wing Chun faced her would-be husband and easily defeated him. She later settled down with the partner of her choice, Leung Bok To, a Hung Kuen exponent, and taught him her style.
