Sydney City HQ opened in 1984 in Elizabeth Street, Sydney, and moved to its present location at 355 Sussex Street in 1986. These premises also serve as the New South Wales and National Headquarters for the International Wing Chun Academy.
The campus extends over 2 floors of the building; level 1 and level 3.
Level 1 contains the main martial arts training hall, which is fully equipped with protective sparring gear and other training aids, air-conditioning, toilets and shower facilities, and photocopying services.
Level 3 contains the second air-conditioned martial arts training hall, which is equipped with gymnamisum equipment for the use of Academy students. This level also contains a lecture room equipped with computers and audio-visual equipment.
A specialised sport and martial arts library is located on Level 3 for the reference of Academy students.
Sydney City HQ offers instruction by several highly qualified instructors, some with up to 35 years’ experience in teaching Grandmaster Jim Fung’s Wing Chun Kung Fu™. It is open seven days a week for the convenience of shift workers, students and other people with irregular timetables. As well as its standard classes in Wing Chun, Sydney City HQ also offers a variety of different specialty classes covering areas such as fitness, relaxation, sparring and street defence.
The Sydney City Branch is convenient for those living in the Eastern Suburbs, including Paddington, Centennial Park, Bondi, Surry Hills, Chippendale, Redfern, Newtown, Ultimo, Broadway, Pyrmont, Haymarket, Glebe, Balmain and North Sydney.
An extraordinary number of cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs, shopping facilities, accommodation facilities, transportation facilities and tourist sites are located within walking distance of Sydney City HQ.
