Sigung Chu Shong Tin to return to the IWCA in May 2008.

Sigung Chu Shong Tin will return to Australia for the week beginning May the 5th to give private instruction to the Academy's Chief Instructors. He will supervise training sessions in use of the Wing Chun weapons, the six-and-a-half-point pole and butterfly knives, and other aspects of Sifu Jim Fung's training system. All seven of the IWCA's Chief Instructors, Richard Antonini, Albert Chong, Len Hollis, Ivan Howe, David O'Donell, Tony Psaila and Tony Stewart, will gather at Sydney Headquarters to train with Sigung. They will also conduct a number of workshops to pass on what they have learned to other members of the Academy. "Since Sifu Jim passed away, Sigung has honoured his promise to come back and share his skills with our Chief Instructors so they can progress through levels five and six of our training system," said Simo Linda Fung. "That he would travel so far in his semi-retirement to do this is an indication of the strong master-student relationship he shared with Sifu Jim and the ongoing affection he holds for the Academy. "We are enormously honoured and grateful for Sigung's support for the Academy and our efforts to continue Sifu Jim's legacy."

Grandmaster Jim Fung's Memorial Service DVD now available.

A DVD of Grandmaster Jim Fung's Memorial Service which was held on the 14th of April 2007 at the Sydney Town Hall is now available for purchase through our online store. The Memorial Service features tribute speeches by Sigung Chu Shong Tin and student of Grandmaster Fung, as well as historical footage and photos of Grandmaster Fung and the International Wing Chun Academy, and demonstrations by Students and Instructors. Exclusive to the DVD are bonus photos as well as the entire footage of Grandmaster Fung's last seminar in October 2006. Free Commemorative Seminars for IWCA Members

In Commemoration of Sifu Jim Fung, a number of Chief Instructors from Adelaide, Gold Coast and Sydney will be conducting free seminars at the Sydney HQ on Wednesday, the 19th of March, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. All currently enrolled members of the IWCA are welcome to attend. Orders for the limited edition Memorial Service DVD will also be accepted on the night.

Street Defence Workshop in Sydney City on Thursday, 20/12/07 at 6:30pm.

There will be a Street Defence Workshop conducted by Chief Instructor Len Hollis at the Sydney City branch on Thursday, 20/12/07 at 6:30pm. Purpose: To put you under stress and / or pressure (feel the fear, but do it anyway) and to teach you to use tactics and gross motor movements to cover as many situations as possible (i.e. one-on-one or multiple attackers (armed or unarmed) standing up, sitting down, kneeling, on your back) without needing a specific 'technique' for each individual situation. It's about being as practical and efficient as possible for everyone, regardless of gender, age and strength. What to wear: Do wear street clothes (something expendable). The top should have long sleeves to protect your arms and elbows from grazes. Bring shin pads and arm pads if you wish. How long? 90 minutes.

Sydney Open Day 2007!

The IWCA Sydney HQ will have be having its Open Day on Saturday, October 6th 2007. Doors will open at 11am, whilst demonstrations will commence at 1pm. There will also be Lion Dances, Door Prizes and free Hands-On Workshops with the IWCA's Instructors and Chief Instructors!

Guinness World Record broken again!

Academy instructor Robert Ardito has renewed his Guinness World record by smashing an amazing 700 punches in one minute. Robert dedicated his world record to Sifu Jim Fung and raised money for cancer research through the event.
