Sigung Tsui named 'Father of IWCA' August 2004
Sifu Jim conferred the title on Sigung at a celebration banquet attended by more than 100 instructors and students from NSW, SA and Qld schools at the conclusion of his six-day seminar tour on August 21.
Presenting our grandmaster with a plaque embossed with golden Chinese characters, Sifu Jim said that since its founding 31 years ago, the Academy had gone from strength to strengthE Its expansion overseas offered students the benefits of training while traveling, and employment in other countries.
Sifu Jim gave credit to Sigung Tsuis dedication and enthusiasm to Wing Chun. He said that through Sigungs teaching, he was able to pass on the genuine art to IWCA students.
Sigung also taught me respect and led me to realise that without such respect, a student could never learn the (Wing Chun) system to the letter because his heart is not completely in it,ESifu Jim said.
In his acceptance speech, Sigung Tsui said he was honoured to be named father of an internationally known Wing Chun school like IWCA. He said that during his week at the Academy, he had observed high standards of teaching and training by instructors and students alike. The skills of students had improved dramatically in the past year (since his last visit in September, 2003).
In future, not only will be the school be world famous, but the skills of its students will be world famous,ESigung Tsui said. I am confident your skills will continue to improve.Ebr>
Sifu Jim also made a presentation to Sigungs wife, Simo Tsui, as thanks for her support over the years.
