The Academy’s first branch in this area was opened at Caringbah in 1987 by Inst. Paul Breadner. It moved to its present location in the Miranda Community Centre in 1989. The hall is two minutes walk from the train station and there is ample parking available.
This branch is convenient for those living in and around Gymea, Kareela, Sylvania, Caringbah, Yowie Bay and Gymea Bay.
Darren Harrower
Inst. Darren, a Level 2 Instructor, has been training at Miranda branch since 1999. A communications manager by profession, he became a Level 1 Instructor in 2003 and Miranda Branch Leader in 2005. He was graded up to Level 2 in 2008.
Inst. Darren says he enjoys Wing Chun because it keeps his mind sharp and helps him to relax. He considers it a privilege to be part of the IWCA and derives great personal satisfaction from teaching.
